Systems Engineer

Cielo Inertial Solutions, a leading provider of advanced inertial navigation systems for defense and international markets, is looking for a Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of IMU & INS solutions.

This role is at the heart of our R&D organization, driving system architecture and end-to-end development of complex multidisciplinary products.

In this role you will –

1. Lead full lifecycle development of inertial navigation systems (IMU/INS) – from concept and requirements definition through architecture, design, integration, verification, and qualification.
2. Own system-level architecture, including performance budgets, error modeling, and trade-off analysis.
3. Drive multidisciplinary development across Hardware, Firmware, Software, Algorithms, Mechanics, and Production.
4. Define and manage system requirements, interfaces, and verification plans (V&V).
5. Lead integration activities, debugging, and root-cause analysis of complex system-level issues.
6. Analyze performance and test data (lab & field), including drift, noise, thermal & dynamics effects, and calibration behavior.
7. Support design reviews, documentation, and compliance with industry and military standards.
8. Contribute to cost estimation, risk analysis, and design-to-cost considerations.
9. Work closely with customers – from technical discussions to onsite integration and acceptance tests.

Role requirements –

1. Sc. in Electrical Engineering / Electro-Optics / Physics or equivalent – must
2. 5+ years of experience in system engineering of complex hardware products (defense / inertial / electro-optics – strong advantage)
3. Strong system-level thinking – hands-on approach
4. Experience with sensors (IMU, gyros, accelerometers) – significant advantage
5. Experience in multidisciplinary systems (HW, FW, SW, mechanics)
6. Hands-on experience with lab equipment and system bring-up – must
7. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
8. Experience with Python / MATLAB or similar tools – advantage
9. Familiarity with MIL-STD / environmental & qualification testing – advantage
10. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead without authority
