We are looking for an experienced Physicist/ Electro-optical Engineer with expertise in chip design

to join our CTO team.

About the team:

  • The CTO team is leading the development of the next generation inertial sensing in Cielo and responsible for the continuous improvement of current technology.
  • The technology consists of diverse high-end elements from different optics and electro-optics branches, providing state-of-the-art performance at the system level.
  • Team members are involved in diverse development phases, from initial research to concept design and from feasibility study to the final design.
  • All team members operate in a multi-tasking environment, leading various research, design, and engineering activities in parallel.

Job description:

  • Work on the development of novel integrated photonic devices for optical interconnect and sensing applications. Including physical models, simulations, and analysis.
  • Conduct chip layout circuit design, circuit checking, and device evaluation and characterization.
  • Perform prototype construction and checkout.
  • Develop measurement methodology and apparatus to test and characterize the fabricated devices and perform experiments to demonstrate their ability in various potential applications
  • Engage in component benchmarking against alternative approaches and contribute with innovative device designs
  • Close cooperation with academic research groups


  • MSc. in electro-optics / Material Eng./Physics – Ph.D. advantage.
  • 3 years of practical experience in research and development of electro-optic systems
  • Photonics chip design tool – Must. Cadence – Advantage.
  • Photonic Simulation SW Experience – Must.  Lumerical – Advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with optics and EO device measurements – must.
  • Strong understanding of waveguide optics, both passive components such as WG, tapers & couplers and active components such as modulators, lasers and detectors.
  • Experience in design and implementation of lab setups for optical measurements.
